Subject: Print vs. Online

We are reviewing our subscriptions that come in more than one format.
Two of the things we are comparing are online content vs. print and the
date an issue becomes available online vs. when the print issue is checked
in.

Since we are a small academic library, we don't have a lot of duplication
except that which occurs in Project Muse and the Academic Press/IDEAL
package. Has anyone else undertaken such a review and would be willing to
share your findings?

We have noticed some print issues are as much as six months behind the
online availability--just wondering if publishers are using our print
renewal dollars to subsidize their costs to produce an online version,
thereby forcing libraries to purchase both formats if they want to have the
current issues???
