Glenda and list,
I've just been looking back through postings to SERIALST on the topic of
binding, and have rediscovered this message (below) from last October. Two
items in it piqued my curiosity, and I wonder if you, or anyone, might
comment on these.
1. Where in the online records are you placing binding frequency
information? And is there a mechanism for extracting a list of those titles?
2. What conclusions have you reached concerning ftx electronic duplication?
We are in the process of pulling canceled titles from our current
periodicals shelves, and analyzing whether or not they all require binding.
It is tempting to discard those items for which we have full text
electronic access, but I am too aware of the possibility of that access
disappearing, for any number of reasons which have been covered on this list.
What are other libraries doing about titles that were canceled because of
electronic duplication?
Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
