Thanks to all who shared their expertise with me concerning claims control.
 I found many tips helpful and will implement them in my procedures.
Marcia, thanks for posting the summary of those you received.  Also,
several replies contained comforting remarks such as "there are many in
this same boat" and "serials control is like nailing jello to a wall", etc.
 It's good to know I am not the only one ever faced with this "problem."
