Subject: Questions about 856 field 2nd indicator

Good morning:

         Sometime in late 2001 there were talking about discontinuing the
different codes for the 2nd indicator of 856 (i.e. 0=source itself; 1=
version, 2= related sources). Maybe it was just an OCLC practice as USMARC
has not made that change? I would appreciate any advise/information on
this. Thanks.
