The Drexel Library of Saint Joseph's University invites applications for
the position of Serials/Shared Resources Librarian.
This is a full-time, twelve-month professional position. The
Serials/Shared Resources Librarian has primary responsibility for the
Library's serials collection and interlibrary loan operations.
Provides leadership and formulates policies and procedures for serials
management, including e-journals, and for interlibrary loan services
(ILL), including document delivery via Ariel and other modes of
delivery. Responsible for the cataloging, database management, and
authority control of serials records. Coordinates ILL participation
in the Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc. (PALCI) loan
program and copyright compliance. Supervises three support staff
and student assistants in Periodicals and Interlibrary Loan units.
Serves as liaison to one or more academic departments. Provides
service at Reference Desk for a designated number of hours weekly and
participates in the Library's instruction program. Position reports
to the Associate Director for Resources Management.
Required: MLS from ALA-accredited library program, three years of
serials management/cataloging experience, reference and supervisory
experience, and demonstrated commitment to serving the reference and
research needs of an academic library community.
Desired experience in interlibrary loan, flexibility and creativity in an
ever-changing environment.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Send
