Annual Conference of the Pennsylvania Library Association
Hershey, Pennsylvania
November 10-13, 2002

The College and Research Division of the Pennsylvania Library Association
is now accepting proposals for presentations or panel sessions for the
Annual Conference in Hershey, PA, Sunday-Wednesday November 10-13, 2002.

If you have a topic of interest to practicing academic librarians, we
would love to hear from you.  Examples of possible topics include, but are
not limited to, the following:

*information literacy assessment             *community outreach efforts
*library as place                            *faculty/librarian
                                                collaboration
*instruction for first-year undergraduates   *serving the remote learner
*recruiting and diversity                    *managing e-journals
*library service in the digital age          *user satisfaction surveys
*marketing                                   *learning communities

Submission Criteria
Proposals should include the following:
Contact information for all presenters
Title of the presentation
A short description of the topic (50-75 words)
A full description of the session outlining its main points and why you
think it will engage your audience
List of publications and/or presentations
Speakers are encouraged to provide comments from people who have
attended their programs, when available
Audiovisual needs
Estimated expenses*
(*Please note that in accordance with PaLA policy, no association funds
can be used for speakers fees for Pennsylvania librarians and library
staff.)

Submission Due Date
Deadline for submission is March 15, 2002.  Late submissions will not be
considered.

Proposal Acceptance Notification

The College and Research Division Board expects to complete its review of
submissions by April 5, 2002.  Applicants will be notified of the Board's
decision via e-mail.

Submission Methods

The preferred method of submission is by e-mail attachment but faxes and
mailed proposals are welcome.
