Cataloging Librarian - Serials

The Cataloging Librarian - Serials performs original and complex copy
cataloging for print and electronic serials, periodicals, newspapers,
standing orders, continuations, archival materials, electronic databases
and internet resources; participates in the formulation of cataloging
policies; serves as a resource person and trainer for other cataloging
staff within Technical Services; coordinates activities with other
teams; and assists Team leader in managing workflow.

Education, Experience and Training
Required:  MLS from an ALA accredited school.
Additional Qualifications Desired:  2 years of serials cataloging
experience; experience with an automated integrated library system
(Endeavor Voyager preferred); academic library experience

Knowledge, Skills, Ability
Solid working knowledge of AACRII, LCSH, LC classification, USMARC,
OCLC; evidence of ability to enhance user access to the collection
through innovative application of cataloging principles; commitment to
maintain knowledge of developments in serials management; ability to
function as a team member in a production-oriented environment;
flexibility in adapting to changing priorities; attention to detail and
accuracy; strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills

Compensation
This 12-month position carries excellent benefits including tuition
concession.  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications,
