I have had the impression that the MARC Format for Holdings Data (MFHD)
would be a required standard in all current integrated library systems.
But I have learned that at least two well-established systems on the
market do not even use MFHD.

We currently use DRA's item record device rather than the MARC format
for holdings.  In setting requirements for a new ILS, would we be
well-advised to require MHFD implementation?
