***No. 26 seems to be correct by my records. I recorded a skipped number
(#12) for the extra issue put out Sept. 11, and the rest fell in line,
although I am missing the Dec. 3 & 10th issues at this point. Nov. 26th
was number 23, and Dec. 17th (which we did receive, and is numbered 26)
would be correct.

I show vol 158 no 24 as Dec 3 2001 and no 25 as Dec 10 and no 26 as Dec
17.
Maybe you're missing some issues.
Hope this helps.

Julia --

You must have missed the two special issues, which had regular numbering,
after September 11. The issues did not have clearly delineated dates, so
we used the date on the cover (Sept 11) for no.12 and the date after the
previous issue (Sept 24 --> Sept 25) for no.14. All other issues are
number and date as printed (all v.158):

no.10 Sep 10 no.19 Oct 29
no.11 Sep 17 no.20 Nov 5
no.12 Sep 11 no.21 Nov 12
no.13 Sep 24 no.22 Nov 19
no.14 Sep 25 no.23 Nov 26
no.15 Oct 1 no.24 Dec 3
no.16 Oct 8 no.25 Dec 10
no.17 Oct 15 no.26 Dec 17
no.18 Oct 22

Our Dec. 17 copy is also numbered, v. 158 n. 26. However, looking at our
back issues, this seems to be the correct number for this issue. Dec. 10
is v. 158 n. 25, Dec. 3 is v. 158 n. 24, etc.

Keep in mind that there was at least one "newsstand only" issue of TIME
published because of the September 11 attacks. These magazines weren't
mailed to subscribers but they were part of TIME's enumeration sequence.
Ain't they wunnerful?

Our copy of the December 17, 2001 issue of Time magazine is numbered,
vol. 158 no. 26. In looking back over the past issues, this should be
no.24 not no.26. Does anyone else have this numbering in their issues?
