Important clarification/correction follows.

In a posting on Friday I wrote, in a discussion of printed periodicals
lists and databases:

> All that being said, I fully expect some of the reference staff to
> still lobby for a printed list. That, of course, just isn't going to
> happen.

When I wrote the above I thought, and still think, that it is clearly
stated as a personal opinion. It says that some reference staff WILL
lobby for a printed one, which is intended to imply that no decision
has been made on this topic. To be perfectly correct the next sentence
should state explicitly "IT IS MY OPINION that, of course, just isn't
going to happen." As noted in my original posting, the TDNet service
isn't yet out for the public. The public continues to rely on our
online catalog and our twenty month old printed list. Further in the
message I did state a few of the many reasons I believe a printed list
will not be continued.

Whether or not the printed list will be resurrected in some format, or
whether that product will die, has yet to be determined by library
management. I'm sure that discussion will be taking place over the
next few months.

My apologies to anyone at Boise State or elsewhere who didn't
understand the intent of what I wrote. As always, I write my opinions
only, and am NEVER speaking officially for Boise State University or
the Albertsons Library. That isn't my job.

Happy holidays,

dan
