POSITION: Library Assistant III or Library Technical Assistant
(Serials)
NATURE OF WORK: This position is responsible for ordering, processing
for
payment and maintaining 1400+ journal subscriptions, plus 7000+ Serial
holdings records. It is a paraprofessional position where independent
thinking and decision making skills are necessary. Major job
responsibilities are: creation and maintenance of Voyager Serials
records;
use of Excel for maintaining fund records; interaction with Cataloging
and
other Library personnel; interaction with Vendor representatives;
supervision of Serials student workers; other duties as assigned.
Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for a person interested in being involved
in the changing field of Serials management and technology. Must be
detail-oriented, organized and computer literate. Appointment level
based
on qualifications.
LIBRARY ASSISTANT III - Bachelor's degree required. Four years academic
library experience preferred but not required.
LIBRARY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT - Bachelor's degree required. Two years
library experience required. Serials or Voyager experience preferred.
SALARY:
LIBRARY ASSISTANT III - $9.28 - $10.67 (Hourly)
LIBRARY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT - $20,280 - $23,322 (Annually)
