Missouri Western State College Library, St. Joseph, Missouri seeks
creative and energetic applicants for the position of:
ACQUISITIONS/SERIALS MANAGEMENT LIBRARIAN.  Entry level position reporting
to the Coordinator of Automation/Technical Services. Responsible for
managing Acquisitions and Serials activities. Acquisitions duties include:
materials ordering, receipt, pre-cataloging processing, vendor
communication, fund tracking, payment. Serials duties include: renewals,
record maintenance including copy cataloging and union list maintenance,
directing check-in, claiming and binding, Serials web pages maintenance.
Responsible for developing and implementing Innovative Interfaces (III)
Acquisitions/Serials modules with MOBIUS (consortium of MO academic
libraries). Recommend goals, objectives, policies and develop statistical
reports related to all Acquisitions/Serials functions. Supervise one
full-time staff and student workers. Performs Reference duties on weekend
rotation.

Required: M.L.S. from ALA-accredited institution; familiar with
bibliographic tools, integrated systems; LC subject headings, AACR II/MARC
formats. Experience with acquisitions and serials management; strong
organization and communication skills; 1 year academic library experience.
Preferred: Experience with web design and Innovative Interfaces (III).
$2,420/month minimum salary depending upon qualifications/experience.

Cost-of-living is below national average, especially housing costs.
