Subject: Call for Nominations - Margaret Mann Citation
Nominations are sought for the 2002 Margaret Mann Citation.
The Margaret Mann Citation is awarded by the Association for Library
Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS, a division of ALA)
Cataloging and Classification Section for outstanding professional
achievement in cataloging or classification either through
publication of significant professional literature, participation in
professional cataloging associations, or valuable contributions to
practice in individual libraries. OCLC Online Computer Library
Center will donate a $2,000 scholarship to the U.S. or Canadian
library school of the winner's choice.
The Margaret Mann Citation Committee bases its selection on nominations
made by members of the profession or friends of the profession--anyone
with a worthy candidate is urged to nominate that person. For further
information on nomination criteria, please see
http://www.ala.org/alcts/awards/mann.html
Previous recipients of the award are listed at
http://www.ala.org/alcts/awards/mannrecip.html
The nomination deadline is December 1, 2001. Nominations shall include a
formal statement of nomination with some rationale and a resume or
narrative summary of the nominee's career and achievements. Supporting
documentation from individuals other than the primary nominator are also
welcome. For additional information or to submit a nomination, contact
