LIBRARY RESIDENCY PROGRAM:  Search Extended: Auburn University Libraries
offers a two-year residency program to introduce recent library graduates
to academic librarianship.  AU has a continuing commitment to promote
diversity and multicultural awareness in all areas of the library. One of
the chief purposes of the residency program is to increase the diversity
of professional librarians and to encourage the involvement and
participation of underrepresented librarians in academic research
libraries.  The focus is to provide a solid introductory professional
experience and assist the resident in building a foundation to become an
active participant in the library profession. The library is committed to
providing mentoring, assistance in developing a research program, and
financial support for attending local and national conferences, seminars,
and workshops. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must have a recent master's
degree from an ALA-accredited program. Prior professional experience is
not expected. Applicants must possess effective communication skills and
be able to work closely with patrons and colleagues. Applicants from
underrepresented ethnic groups are encouraged to apply.
SALARY/BENEFITS: This is a two-year, non-tenure, non-renewable appointment
at the rank of Librarian I with a minimum salary of $32,000, 20 days
vacation leave, and 12 days sick leave annually. Retirement and insurance
