My husband works for the University also in the Cabinet shop. He made
a mfm winder/rewinder for me. It has really come in handy. Maybe
someone in your maintenance/physical plant could help you out by
making one too.

Subject: microfilm reel rewinder

I have some older reader/printers which allow for the film to
wound
totally off the reel. Needless to say, it is very tedious to wind
the
tape on the reel by hand. I have checked several suppliers and
cannot
find rewinder for microfilm. Does not such a thing exist?
