My husband works for the University also in the Cabinet shop.  He made
a mfm winder/rewinder for me.  It has really come in handy.  Maybe
someone in your maintenance/physical plant could help you out by
making one too.

   I have some older reader/printers which allow for the film to
wound
  totally off the reel. Needless to say, it is very tedious to wind
the
 tape on the reel by hand. I have checked  several suppliers and
cannot
       find rewinder for microfilm. Does not such a thing exist?
