ALEPH (EX Libris) uses the seasons (21, 22, 23, and 24) for pattern
creation
and with the SICI for check-in.

One of the data elements used in both the earlier and later versions
of the SICI (ANSI/NISO Z39.56-1996 -- Serial Item and Contribution
Identifier) is a chronology format that includes codes for both
seasons and quarters.
The seasons are as follows:
21  Spring
22  Summer
23  Fall
24  Winter
