                           SERIALS LIBRARIAN

                            IMMEDIATE OPENING

The Free Library of Philadelphia has an immediate opening for a Serials
Librarian in a busy dynamic technical services division. Primary
responsibilities include placing orders for print and non-print serial
publications utilizing both manual and automated acquisitions systems,
claiming materials, communicating with subject departments about
subscription status, and updating records as titles change. The
successful candidate will establish effective relationships with library
vendors, and utilize a variety of vendors' web-based information,
ordering, and claiming systems.

Qualifications:

MLS from an ALA accredited program; one year of librarian experience;
ability to keep track of multiple tasks, focus on a high level of detail
and adjust to new library technologies; willingness to work as a team
member with other professional and clerical staff; ability to adapt to
an urban, multicultural environment; familiarity with DRA Acquisitions
Module or previous experience in technical service work is a plus.

Salary: $33,077.00 per year, entry level
            $36,269.00 per year (one year experience required)

Residency requirement in the City of Philadelphia.
