SERIALS LIBRARIAN

The University of the Incarnate Word, a Catholic liberal arts institution
located in San Antonio, Texas, seeks a Serials Librarian to begin August
1, 2001.  This position is a non-tenure track, 12-month appointment with
limited faculty status.  Responsibilities include acquiring, maintaining
and further developing the serials collection (periodicals and standing
orders) in multiple formats; planning and implementing migration from a
stand alone check-in system to a new web-based system; developing and
implementing a serials collection development policy; evaluating license
agreements for electronic subscriptions/vendor selection; monitoring
Interlibrary Loan service; supervising one paraprofessional and several
student assistants; and Reference desk duty, which could involve
evening/weekend hours. Requirements include an MLIS from an accredited
library school, a minimum of two years of appropriate library experience,
strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent customer service
and proficiency in the use of databases.  Deadline to apply is June 7,
