Jewel, we do count microfiche for statistical purposes. One report that
specifically takes this into account is the IPED report, which our
institution completes every couple of years. We estimate our fiche count by
getting an average number of fiche in one inch and then multiplying that
number by the total number of inches of fiche in the collection. We do
'squeeze' the fiche together so they are snug and give an accurate
measurement. I'd be interested to know what others do.
