Subject: New serials librarian needs suggestions
Dear Colleagues,
Not only am I new to Serials cataloguing, but I am completely new
to cataloguing, after 18 years as a government documents librarian.
My department head has asked for a list of books and guides that I
would like to have to help me in the learning process. I already have
the SCCTP Basic serials cataloging workshop manuals, both instructor
and trainee; the CONSER editing guide; Serials cataloging handbook;
and Notes for serials cataloging. The CONSER cataloging manual is
already on order for me. Is there anything else specifically for
serials that anyone out there can recommend? I seem to have all the
basic cataloging tools, AACR2R, DDC21, LC subject headings, etc.
Thanks,
Jan Torbet
