It really depends on the publisher.  Some allow more open access than
others.  I think it is this title by title complexity that is pushing
libraries to adopting "group" programs to help manage access.  Some
libraries subscribe to groups of titles by a single publisher (Project Muse)
since the access is the same for all the titles. We are using Ebsco Online
to manage our online subscriptions.  It is a free service that Ebsco
provides to us and it takes the complexity out of our hands because Ebsco
manages it.

Subject: Free access with print sub

I need some help regarding periodicals that allow free access to websites,
such as Value Line, using usernames, passwords, etc.
No IP's are involved.
I had assumed that since the print editions are used by a lot of people,
that the publishers would expect the same for the websites, but now I think
not. .

Are we supposed to give out the passwords, etc. to patrons?
Can the patrons use them outside of the library?
Are the publishers expecting this type of use?
