We give our scientists the final say.  Because certain subject areas never
change (ie. Chemistry) and you never know when they will need the
material.  We circulate a discard list and solicit their opinions for that
reason.  Maybe, if you are equiped, you could compromise by ordering some
material on microfilm or a digital format.  You also must weigh the cost of
possible Interlibrary Loans, if you discard material that they subsequently
need.
