ACQUISITIONS/SERIALS MANAGEMENT LIBRARIAN

Missouri Western State College Library, St. Joseph, Missouri seeks creative
and energetic applicants for the position of: ACQUISITIONS/SERIALS
MANAGEMENT LIBRARIAN.  This individual will direct development/ongoing
maintenance of serials records in INLEX/DRA and OCLC; help implement
Innovative Interfaces (III) serials/acquisitions modules with MOBIUS
(consortium of Missouri academic libraries); perform serials cataloging;
direct serials check-in/claims/binding; maintain Acquisitions/Serials
webpage; maintain department statistics/reports; supervise one full-time
staff position/1.5 FTE students. This position reports to the Coordinator
of Technical Services.

REQUIRED: MLS from ALA-accredited institution; documented knowledge of
Library of Congress classification/subject headings, AACR II/MARC formats, and
major bibliographic utility; strong oral/written communication skills;
familiar with bibliographic tools and applications of integrated
bibliographic systems; minimum one year academic library experience;
$2,420/month minimum salary, depending upon qualifications/experience.

Missouri Western State College is a public, state-supported institution

oriented associate and baccalaureate degree programs.  Certificate
programs, professional programs, programs for transfer students, continuing
education opportunities, and self-enrichment courses are also offered.  The
college has an enrollment of  5,100 students with a full-time teaching

77,000 and a favorable location 50 miles north of Kansas

available.  Cost-of-living is below national average, especially housing costs.
