Subject: Re: Centrobe/Neodata of Boulder (Joe Edelen)
I have pretty much been lurking during the Neodata discussion, but I
thought that I might mention one thing that has helped (sometimes) with
their subscriptions. I have had pretty much all of the problems that
everyone else has had, but my biggest problems (with the exception of
missed issues at the beginning of the subs., and I don't have any remedies
for that) have related to the address label. When we received 2 copies, we
frequently had them combine the subscription to 1 copy for 2 years (as has
been mentioned). Our solution - leave our regular address on one label,
but give them a name to put on the other label for the 2d copy (or
*something* to make the address different and differentiate copies). They
seem to handle a name in the address better than a department or building.
I have frequently had problems with them leaving off library or serials,
too (and the PO box was made up to satisfy postal regulations and is for
the *entire* university, not just us), so issues were going wherever our
mailroom decided to send them. I have found that, although they almost
certainly will never manage to get library or serials into the address, if
I ask to have them add my name, it happens! So, unless there is something
that makes this verbotten in your neck of the woods, you might try this
trick.
Good luck to one and all,
