LIBRARY RESIDENCY PROGRAM: Auburn University Libraries offers a
two-year residency program to introduce recent library graduates to
academic librarianship. The purpose of this program is to encourage
library students to participate in the academic library environment as
well as increase faculty diversity on the Auburn campus. The focus is
to provide a solid introductory professional experience and assist the
resident in building a foundation to become an active participant in the
library profession. The library is committed to providing mentoring,
assistance in developing a research program, and financial support for
attending local and national conferences, seminars, and workshops.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must have a recent master=s degree from an
ALA-accredited program. Prior professional experience is not expected.
Applicants must possess effective communication skills and be able to
work closely with patrons and colleagues.
Applicants from underrepresented ethnic groups are especially
encouraged to apply.
SALARY/BENEFITS: This is a two-year, non-tenure, non-renewable
appointment at the rank of Librarian I with a salary of $32,000, 20 days
vacation leave, and 12 days sick leave annually. Retirement and
