Dear List Colleagues,

A couple of weeks ago I sent a request to the list asking for info on
binding Title Pages and Tables of Contents, and you didn't let me down.
I received twelve responses, and thought you might like to have a
summary of those responses.

Five responses indicated that special instructions are given to the
commercial binder to remove TP and TOC and bind at the beginning of a
bibliographic volume.

Two responses indicated that the TP and TOC are removed and repositioned
in-house before sending the volume to the commercial binder.

Five responses indicated that TP and TOC are ignored and materials bound
"as is." Two of those responses noted that this is a recent change
dicated by cost and lack of staff time.

I thank you all for your input. A recent "crisis" in our Bindery Unit
necessitated my taking a more direct role in the day-to-day operations.
That's when I notice the TP and TOC situation. Your comments,
suggestions has help clarify the situation and make an appropriate
decision regarding our operation.

I wish you all a very happy holiday.
