Subject: Questions About Migrating to a New System

Hi!

We are going to migrate to a new system, VIRTUA (from VTLS).  Actually, it
is an upgrade but we have to migrate and cannot just update our current
system.

May I know from people who have gone through the same process if they
would suggest that we do parallel migration (this means that after the
initial upload of records, we will maintain/update both the old and the
new system) or is it better to stop the old once the new one is ready?

Our main concern is the possible problem with the new system, which we
wouldn't know until we're actually using the system.  If anybody out there
has this experience, I'll appreciate any insight or suggestion or comment.
I'm also particularly interested to know if check-in activities could be
extracted from the old system and be loaded into the new one.
