Another thing to consider regarding the creation of ldrs for electronic
resources is the number of journals you have access to. At my current
library, we subscribe to almost 150 databases, more than a dozen of which
are full-text. There are more than 7,000 titles covered by these
databases. Some titles are covered in more than one database -- either
different editions or with different coverage dates. These databases are
not static, that is, they often add and drop titles seemingly at whim or
adding backfiles. To maintain ldrs would be astronomical. For this
reason, we don't even add the urls to the records for the
corresponding print journals.
