Andrea:
In cases like yours, we (San Francisco State University) are
closing the holdings in the LDR (Local Data Record) for the paper and
fiche versions but not making any mention of the electronic form.
The reasoning is: our purpose in having the LDRs was mainly for
Inter-Library Loan purposes, but our contracts with the vendors for
the electronic resources are NOT (generally) available for
Inter-Library Loan.

Subject: LDRS
Our director has decided to cancel most of our paper and microform
subscriptions and just have them continued in the electronic form.
My question is how does this reflect holdings in OCLC ? I keep the
paper and microform holdings as closed but should a new LDR be
created for the electronic holdings? IF so, would that be in the note
field as I do with the microform? Would the database (proquest, abi,
lexis nexus, etc.) be listed also? Is anyone doing this?
I really appreciate any information.
Thanks
