Public Services Librarian
Purdue University North Central is searching for a Public Services
Librarian who will be responsible for bibliographic instruction,
reference, interlibrary loan services, and circulation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
? Conducts bibliographic instruction for classes and other groups as
required
? Consults with faculty, develop and present course-specific library
instruction sessions
? Delivers traditional and electronic reference services to students,
faculty, and staff
? Presents workshops on electronic information resources
? Manages Interlibrary Loan services, including handling requests,
budgeting and statistical record keeping
? Supervises and coordinates circulation desk staff, including two FTE
clerks
? Assists in developing and maintaining the Reference and Interlibrary
Loan web pages
? Contributes to planning and process improvement of the library
? Reference collection development in cooperation with acquisitions
librarian and Library Director
OTHER DUTIES:
? Participates in annual inventory of library materials
? Oversees the process of encumbrance including the determination of
late fees, ordering fees and book fees
? Provides written reports for Library Director and performs other
duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters of Library Science (ALA Accredited)
and one-year professional experience in a public library services
operation. Experience with OCLC and other computer-based systems for
interlibrary loan services. Excellent written and oral communication
skills with strong service orientation. Knowledge of and experience with
information technologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Library instruction and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity
with library automation management systems, specifically Voyager.
Salary $29,000-$31,000, dependeent upon experience. To apply please fax
