David,
We have received through v. 21, no. 5, Sept./Oct. 2000. We have
consistently received each issue bimonthly (Mar./Apr. on Mar. 16, May/June
on May 9, etc.) Our Sept./Oct. issue was received Sept. 19, 2000 and we
anticipate receiving Nov./Dec. in mid-November. Our receipt dates are in
line with our vendor's online receipt/expected dates. We do not lack any
1999 issues. Our serials acquisitions coordinator routinely corresponds
with our vendor via e-mail so if you do, forward this response to them.
Hopefully this helps. Good luck!

Lynn

Subject: Nursing and Health Care Perspectives - need your help

Hello

Need your help regarding Nursing and Health Care Perspectives. The
last issue we received was vol. 21, no. 3, May/June 2000 on May 16,
2000. Have other issues been published? We checked CARL and EBSCONET
and both are years behind.
Has anyone had any luck claiming missed issues of this publication?
We missed an issue in 1999 and tried claiming (over and over - they
have a phone system that must have been designed by someone with a
perverse sense of humour - leave a message means absolutely nothing -
NOT THAT I'M BITTER). We never received the vol. 20, no. 3, May/June
1999 issue. We also tried claiming through our agent with no success.

Sorry for the diatribe but this publication has been a problem for
years. Please let me know if later 2000 issues have been published
and if anyone has a phone number, email ... for someone who has
helped them in the past please let me know.

Thanks
David

Hi,

We also have not received any issues since v. 21: no. 3 (May/Jun
2000); however, I searched Dataswets Connect and they indicate that
v. 21: no. 4 & 5 have been published with v. 21: no. 6 expected later
this month.

I also checked the publisher's website http:www.nln.org/ They have
the journal indexed through the Sep/Oct 2000 issue (v. 21: no. 5).
Here are an address, phone number and email address I found on the
order form page of this site.

David,
We have now received v.21, #4 July/August 2000 on July 19, 2000 and v.21, #5
Sept/Oct on September 20. About a year ago we missed receipt of v. 20, #5
and never received a replacement despite several claims. Since you haven't
received the last two issues you might check and see if there is something
wrong with your order.

The latest issue Villanova University received was v.21, no.5
(Sept./Oct.2000).
We have only claimed one issue in the past 4 years and that was v.20,
no.3 (May/June 1999). So far our claim is still outstanding. I think we
can both write off that issue.

We received V. 21, no. 4 Jul/Aug 2000 on 8/12/2000 and no.5 Sep/Oct
2000 on 10/12/2000. I don't think this one has been a problem title for
us and therefore I cannot address your claiming issue. Our vendor is
Ebsco.

I am replying to the group so everyone knows that part of your
questions have been answered. Hope this helps.

Hi David,

Following is our check-in record for Nursing and health care perspectives:

Vol. 21 no.3 May/June 2000 recd 051600
Vol. 21 no.4 July/Aug 2000 recd 071700
Vol. 21 no.5 Sept/Oct 2000 recd 092500
Vol. 21 no.6 Nov/Dec 2000 not yet recd

These have been coming in without claiming.

You are right. Ebscohost, Uncover and other indexing services understandably
lag behind the publishing schedule. A better way to determine if a
particular issue is available is this: go to another library's website and
see if it has been checked in there. It helps to learn which universities
have strong holdings in the same areas as your library.

Hope this helps.
