Thomas Cooper Library, University of South Carolina seeks candidates for
the following:

SERIALS CATALOGER

Performs original serials cataloging and authority control.  Supervises 1
library technical assistant in the creation and editing of cataloging
records and holdings data and in authority control work.  Coordinates
serial cataloging with other departmental staff and other library
cataloging units.  Some collection development responsibilities.

REQUIRED: ALA accredited MLS; effective oral and written communication
skills; organizational skills; ability to work successfully with all
levels of staff; working knowledge of OCLC, NOTIS or another integrated
online library system, AACR2R, LCRI, LC classification system, LCSH, and
MARC.

PREFERRED: post-MLS serial cataloging experience; demonstrated supervisory
skills, facility in at least one foreign language.

Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience.  Faculty status,
tenure-track.  Benefits include medical, dental, state retirement or
optional retirement plan.
