BASIC SERIALS CATALOGING WORKSHOP (Serials Cataloging Cooperative
Training Program (SCCTP))

A two-day Workshop sponsored by the California Library Association
Access, Collections and Technical Services Section Cataloging Interest
Group.

This 2 day workshop is a hands on training course for beginning serials
catalogers.  It is an excellent introduction to the intricacies of
serials cataloging based on the essential serials cataloging tools:
CONSER Cataloging Manual, CONSER Editing Guide, AACR2, LC Rule
Interpretations and MARC formats.  The curriculum covers original and
copy cataloging of print and electronic serials.

DATE/LOCATION:  The workshop will be given twice

Monday & Tuesday, September 11-12:  University of California, Davis

Thursday & Friday, September 14-15:  Cal Poly, Pomona

confirmation, directions to the site, an SCCTP Needs Assessment Basic
