The University of Maryland, Baltimore, Health Sciences and Human
Services Library invites applications for a non-tenured faculty
librarian position.

TITLE:        Digital Resources Librarian
LOCATION:  Collection Development Department
SALARY:     Commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Keeps abreast of trends in electronic
publishing and advises on potential impact on the library; works with
Information Specialists to identify and evaluate appropriate digital
resources and makes recommendations to the Digital Resources
Committee; arranges for trials and demonstrations of digital
resources; compares content from different vendors; reviews and
monitors licenses; works with Computing and Technology Services
Department to implement access and to maintain usage data of
digital resources; assists with overall management of the
Department; serves on library-wide and University-wide committees,
task forces, and teams; is expected to be active professionally.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  MLS from an ALA accredited
school. Experience with Web-based digital resources in a collection
development/acquisitions/serials or reference setting; experience in
an academic/research library.  Demonstrated excellent
communications and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to
work independently or in a team.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:  Experience in a health sciences
library; knowledge of acquisitions and serials processes; knowledge
of licensing digital resources and issues. Supervising or
management experience desirable.  Knowledge of HTML, MARC21
formats, cataloging practices and metadata.
