   When I worked at Mankato State University Memorial Library we
prepaid our Ebsco invoice by 7/1/00  to get the discount.  It is well
worth it.  Hope you can also take advantage of the offer.

Hi!
   I'm wondering how many of you out there get your institutions to
take
advantage of the serials list pre-payment discount offered by vendors?
Our vendor is EBSCO and we can get varying discounts for prepaying the
big renewal list (i.e., 2% if paid by 6-26-00, 1.5% if paid by
7-31-00,
etc.).
   I would like to pre-pay the invoice, as it would result in
thousands
of dollars of savings for the library.     I'm hopeful that if I can
come up with a list of other institutions (roughly similar in size to
mine; 4200 FTE, private four year University; current subscriptions on
our renewal list is about 1600) that actually do pre-pay, that it
might
lend some credence to my argument.
