You are cordially invited to attend the ALCTS Serials Section, Committee
to Study Serials Cataloging (CSSC) meeting to be held at the Hyatt
Regency
Chicago, Grand Ballroom D, (ALA Headquarters Hotel in Downtown Chicago),
on Monday, July 10, 2000, 2:00-4:00 pm, during the ALA Annual Conference
in Chicago.
CSSC has been an excellent sounding forum in the past few years on AACR
and seriality. We appreciate your participation. We plan to provide
you the latest development in serials cataloging and to solicit your
comments and suggestions on rule revision.

Tad will discuss: Defining serials as government publications, Web
pages
and their affect cataloging and access, GPO's cataloging policies for
online works, Use of CONSER's "Single Record" option, Online access and
OCLC's PURLs software, and Trends in publishing and cataloging.
e. Revising AACR2 to Accommodate Seriality, Harmonization efforts
of
AACR2 with ISBD(ER), and Updates - Jean Hirons, CONSER Coordinator,
Library of Congress.
At the invitation of the Joint Steering Committee for Revision of AACR
(JSCAACR) Jean has revised the contents of AACR Chapter 12. "Revising
AACR
to Accommodate Seriality: Rule Revision Proposals" available at:

Jean will be meeting with the CONSER Review Group at ALA and will share
with us ideas that are generated at that meeting. She will also give an
update on harmonization and the IST and discuss integrating resources
and
ask what we should be doing with them. Your input is needed and most
welcome.
