(Search extended) Librarian - Head, Electronic Acquisitions & Serials
Control. University of Texas at San Antonio Library seeks a librarian to
manage the ordering, receiving, paying, and accounting functions for all
library materials, including government documents. Supervises a department
with a staff of seven paraprofessionals plus student assistants. Reports
to the Assistant Director for Technical Services
Qualifications, Required: MLS degree (ALA accredited); 3 years of
increasingly responsible experience in acquisitions or an acquisitions /
technical services combination; experience with an integrated library
system; successful management or supervisory experience; knowledge of
business and accounting practices; ability to work cooperatively with
colleagues, faculty, staff, and vendors; ability to work independently and
to solve problems.
Qualifications: Preferred: Acquisitions experience in a library similar
in size to the UTSA Library, or larger (UTSA student enrollment is 18,600;
library holdings about 540,000 volumes); advanced knowledge of
business/accounting practices; technical services experience with both
monographs and serials; experience with data base systems such as
Microsoft Access.
Salary: $35,000 minimum with full benefits package.
