         Description:
In the role of Electronic Content Librarian, duties will include:
Evaluate, develop, and implement the library's present and
future electronic resources and services; Assume leadership role in the
content management of Intranet resources; Provide expertise in the
creation and use of appropriate indexes, thesauri, dictionaries, and other
categorization tools; Maintain a high level working knowledge of national
and international cataloging standards and practices; Maintain close
vendor contact, particularly in the areas of acquisition, licensing,
implementation, and compliance;  Maintain and update CD-ROM collection and
workstations; Assist with technical support of the integrated library
system; Work closely with other functional teams to accomplish operational
needs of the department; & Maintain a high level of working knowledge of
national and international cataloging standards and practices.

Knowledge of electronic information resources and microcomputer
applications in libraries; Familiarity with emerging bibliographic control
standards for electronic resources; & Demonstrated experience in content
management efforts such as:  categorizing, indexing, abstracting, creation
of thesauri, licensing, evaluation, presentation, training, especially as
they relate to electronic resources on systems such as intranets.

Experience with HTML, Windows NT, and NT server environment, as well as
with local integrated system and/or OCLC, is also required.

Professional experience in research libraries is desirable. The ability to
work in a changing environment, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and
creativity; Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; &
Excellent oral and written communication skills are highly desirable.
Strong commitment to service quality is a must. ALA accredited MLS degree
or equivalent experience. College level coursework or equivalent in life
sciences or chemistry is preferred.
