Granted, we only have just over 1300 subscriptions, but for all titles NOT
ordered through a vendor (maybe 150 at the most), we keep a card file of
mailing labels. It isn't very labor-intensive (actually I have a student
worker who takes care of claims and she also checks wrappers. We save
them only a few weeks at the first of the year, so it might take her
10-15 minutes a couple of times each week.)

Claims through vendors are handled *entirely* by them. If publishers
ask for more info, I just forward that request on to the service rep.

I do realize some schools have much too large a number to handle things as
we do. Maybe some of them will post their procedures.
