Carolyn,
You might try browsing the web archives of SERIALST at
http://list.uvm.edu/archives/serialst.html
Many types of serials-related job descriptions are posted each month and
often begin with a subject line that includes the word(s) "Position" or
"Job" (as in "Position Announcement ..." or "Job Posting ..."). Since the
SERIALST web archive default index arranges messages alphabetically by
subject line (though punctuation and letter casing also affect filing ...
subject lines that start in lower case file at the bottom of the index :-(
), many of the "Position" and "Job" announcements ..." are often filed in
close proximity.
Hope this helps. -- Birdie

Subject: Job Description(s) for Serials Librarians
Hi
My library organization recently implemented an ILS system and
restructured positions within our Technical services unit. We are now
in planning stage to implement Serials control.
A new position is being created for a Serials Librarian. I am hoping
someone can provide me with some information on duties, and tasks the
Serials Librarian in your organization is responsible for.
Some questions I have include: Is Serials responsible for Serials
cataloging or is this done within Cataloging dept.? Serials manage
receiving functions? What does serials librarian do in a
multi-library system? What level of maintenance is Serials responsible
for the ILS system?
Perhaps you can forward any formal job descriptions.
Thank you for your time in assisting me.
