seeks to appoint an editor for its journal Library Resources &
Technical Services. The successful candidate will serve as
editor designate during the period between confirmation and
assuming editorship for volume 45, number 1. The editor's five-
year term covers calendar years 2001-2005.
The editor of LRTS, with the assistance of an editorial board,

familiarity with current research issues and with needs of
professionals working in the areas of ALCTS interests, ability to
work with deadlines, and commitment to devoting the necessary
time to the editor's work. Desirable qualifications include
prior experience on ALCTS committees.
LRTS is an official quarterly publication of ALCTS and contains
refereed articles in the fields of cataloging and classification,
acquisitions, collection development and management, serials,
preservation, and general technical services. It also contains
reviews of books and other materials as well as official reports
of ALCTS activities.
Applicants should submit a resume and a cover letter; a statement
describing the role of LRTS in the profession and indicating
reasons for seeking the editorship; the names and contact
