Hi
We have been in the process of a programme to catch up on 3 year's worth
of binding and we are finding the continual change of formats/ numbering
etc a constant problem. Like most libraries, I guess, we have built up
inhouse "standards" for dealing with most serials, but these seem to
change continually to deal with problems.
Are there any official binding standards? (eg where to put pages 107A-202A
when pages 107-202 exist in the next issue, and where to put pages
300A-400A when pages 300-400 do not exist. This example is from the same
volume of a particular serial).
Is commonsense the key issue, or should we be trying to standardise?
Replies can either be made to me directly or via the list.
Thanks
