Core webinar: The First 90 Days: A New Manager Crash Course

All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.
Description: Are you a new library manager? Feeling overwhelmed, lost, or like you need some support? This webinar will explore tips for new managers transitioning into their role and address some of the challenges they face, as well as offer practical advice for overcoming common hurdles in the first 90 days.
Learning outcomes:
At the end of the webinar the attendees will be able to:
Articulate the difference between being an individual contributor and being a manager
Determine what conversations to have in the first 90 days
Formulate an approach to setting clear expectations with staff
Determine how to stay in the loop with projects without micromanaging
Determine how to address and document performance issues

This webinar is geared towards new library managers.
Presenter:
Julia Davis has a long history with management and libraries, and currently is a Branch Manager with the Clay County Public Library system. Her experience includes time in almost every part of library operations including circulation, technical services, periodicals, government documents, and ILL. She holds an BS in Social Sciences from Jacksonville University, an MLIS from Valdosta State University, and an MSOL from Jacksonville University. She is a current PhD candidate at Anderson University studying Business Leadership. Julia is a member of the ALA TOLD committee and a graduate of the Sunshine State Library Leadership Institute.
