Hi all,

Journal entitlement lists will tell you what you should have (theoretically) for full text access to e-journals. Most vendors let you download a list of entitlements. If you’re lucky, your journal packages are set up by a consortium that is sending info to the major link resolver vendors and you can just select that whole package in the link resolver, but I often find that’s not the case. Then it can be a slog through spreadsheets to determine what needs to be fixed.

You can also sign up for the Journal Transfer service, or go in periodically and download a list. This might help catch journals that have moved around.

Beware that these are often announced well in advance of when it actually happens … I usually follow behind about 6 months on the emails.

Email me if you have more questions.

Thanks,

Hi Abbie,

I'd be interested to know if you find any patterns in the discrepancies. I've noticed discrepancies between our ejournal holdings in EBSCONET and our knowledgebase. In those cases, I've found that the incorrect information is generally in the knowledgebase, not in EBSCONET. We use EBSCO's Holdings Management, so one would expect that the two would be more in sync...

Best,

Shelby

Hello All,

We have started the project of trying update our electronic serials holdings, which have been ignored for several years. We have holdings information in several places including our catalog, Worldshare, our A-Z List, etc. I was wondering if anyone has a procedure they follow to ensure the holdings information is correct across all platforms.

I've also been testing our access by going into each journal to see what years and issues I can access full text articles, and I've noticed a bunch of discrepancies between what I'm able to access and what EBSCONet says we should have access to. Does anyone else have trouble with the accuracy of EBSCONet?

Thanks in advance!

Abbie
