The University of Southern Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor/Catalog Librarian, in the University Libraries to begin in the spring of 2021.
The catalog librarian is a faculty position that requires knowledge of current and emerging best practices in the cataloging of monographic and serial materials.
Under the supervision of the Head of Technical Services, the incumbent catalogs monographic and serial materials in multiple formats, supervises cataloging paraprofessionals, manages projects in cataloging and collection management and
creates and/or maintains documentation. Research and service activities in keeping with a tenure-track faculty position in an academic environment are expected.
Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program, or equivalent advanced degree and experience.

Salary and Rank
Salary range is $45,000 to $50,000 and commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience.
