Each incumbent will supervise a team of librarians, technical information specialists, and library technical support staff. The positions and
responsibilities are:
Collection Development and Acquisitions Section in the Technical Services Division:
acquiring materials in all formats; utilizing contracts, purchase orders and other procurement mechanisms processing materials; providing input on the literature budget and handling payment processing; and participating in the development and maintenance of
automated systems.
Collection Access Section in the Public Services Division: managing DOCLINE, NLM interlibrary
loan services, customer service, and reading room operations and participating in the development and maintenance of the section’s policies and procedures.
Preservation and Collection Management Section in the Public Services Division: managing
collection access and maintenance, environmental monitoring, and emergency/disaster response; overseeing preservation activities including digital preservation and scanning operations; and, participating in the development and maintenance of the section’s
policies and procedures.
Reference & Web Services Section in the Public Services Division: managing NLM web technology
and content and collaborating on issues of web governance, policy, content strategy, content management and web technology, and participating in the development and maintenance of the section’s policies and procedures.
