Hi Amy,

We have not checked in journals for years.
My experience was generally most journals do arrive, and if not I usually know it without checking them in.
Patrons don't look for "the last checked in journal" in your catalog.
There have generally been no adverse issues related to this. It freed me up to do more important things.

Sincerely,
Matt

Subject: [SERIALST] Not Receiving serials

Hi

I was wondering if there are any libraries out there that currently do not check in their serials issues. If so,

Or, if there are any libraries that did this for a period, and returned to checking in, what made you change your decision?

We are looking at a very big backlog whenever it is that we come back, and we’re trying to think of any solutions that might help us to either expedite processing it.

Thanks!

Amy
