Due to updates in COUNTER validation, we've improved some of our COUNTER reports, which may result in slightly different results going forwards. Please see the official statement below:
Usage reporting for Cambridge Core was implemented according to COUNTER’s COP5, the COUNTER Code of Practice (CoP) Release 5, alongside guidance received from one of COUNTER’s recommended auditors.
The reports successfully passed audit in 2019, but due to the improved functionality of the COUNTER Validation Tool, an issue with some book metrics was identified. As a result, we have been recently informed of a clarification to the CoP about which events should be counted towards book investigations and book access denied metrics.
We have previously been under-reporting on “Total_Item_Investigations”, “Unique_Item_Investigations”, and “No_License” metrics for books. This has now been amended and the change has been applied retrospectively, so you will see an increase in metric counts if you rerun PR, TR, TR_B2 or TR_B3 reports.
If you have questions, please contact your usual Cambridge colleague or email: academictraining@cambridge.org
Thank you.
