The TR_J* reports should give you journal title level data. The IR and IR_A1 reports will give you article level data, which is what I'm guessing you're referring to as way too much information.
TR_J1 is close to what you're used to with the old JR1, although J1 excludes the gold OA uses.
If your goal is to compare apples to apples with JR1, you want to look at Total_Item_Requests.
If your goal is to get the most accurate picture of user behavior, you want to look at Unique_Item_Requests.  This metric was added with COUNTER 5 specifically to solve the duplicate-count problem of R4 for when a patron within a single session might look at both the HTML and PDF versions of the same article and it would get counted twice in R4.

Here's a link to Ovid's documentation about how to access their COUNTER 5 data.

Sorry I don't know anything about Silverchair.

Good morning,

I am attempting to set up COUNTER 5 usage reports for journals on the Ovid and SilverChair platforms.  I was able to download the reports on the Atypon site for Unique Items by the title of the journal for 2019.  I am not able to figure out how I can download the same reports on the Ovid or SilverChair platforms.  The reports include a listing of the Unique Items, which is way too much information.

Thank you very much.
