Discovery and Resource Sharing Librarian (Assistant Professor)
Western Carolina University's Hunter Library seeks an enthusiastic and service-oriented individual to serve as the Discovery and Resource Sharing Librarian. This tenure-track position will provide leadership and professional expertise in
library resource sharing and electronic resource access and discovery. The position will lead the collection and analysis of usage data to support e-resource collection assessment and process improvement. The position coordinates the activation, customization,
and maintenance of a wide range of licensed electronic resources such as databases, journals, and books. They will oversee all resource sharing activities, including managing ILL systems and service quality. They will stay abreast of emerging trends and standards
in e-resource discovery and sharing and establish best practices.
Other responsibilities include supervising two full-time staff members; administration of e-resource management tools (e.g. EZProxy, Full Text Finder, Summon, etc.); oversight of resource sharing systems (ILLiad/Tipasa) and ILL request
fulfillment; and maintaining the integrity of e-resource knowledge bases.
